Fun tips and tricks for a digital camera?

I have read the manual and know how to operate the camera, is there a site or book that would teach me how to get the most out of my sony cybershot?

There is not a lot that you can progress with whilst using your Sony Cybershot. Your camera is simply a point & shoot and all that you can practice now is composition. That is not to say that composition is not important, it is what makes the difference between a 'Photograph' and a 'Snapshot' (if you know what I mean). If you want to delve further into photography you will have to buy a camera with manual controls (A DSLR for example or a high end enthusiast compact such as a Canon G10 or Lumix LX3) and learn about Aperture/ISO/Shutter Speed/Depth of Field/White Balance etc.

For you I will recommend buying books on photographers, find which photos really interest you and research photographers in that particular genre. For example if you like wildlife you may want to look at Steve Bloom and his work, architecture and landscape maybe Andreas Gursky?. Anyway I am sure you have got the idea, look at how you frame your photos and compose the scene, it makes all the difference.

My website (if you wish to visit) is http://www.ianfisher.info

    Good luck and have fun!.

Additional: I'm being serious, you have a P&S camera, all you can do is 'point & shoot', and all you can learn now is composition and framing. Without any manual controls there is nothing else you can do, do you understand that?. recommending a book such as 'Understanding Exposure' – Bryan Peterson (good book by the way for people with SLR's!) is pointless as you can not understand exposure until you can control exposure.

Two of my favorite photography books are:

    Learning to See Creatively
    Understanding Exposure

    both by Bryan Peterson.

I highly recommend to anyone interested in getting into hobby photography.
